During the IDF's special military operation in the Gaza Strip, the bodies of six hostages kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7 were found and returned to Israel. The names of the hostages are:
— Abraham Munder (79 years old)
— Chaim Peri (79 years old)
– Yoram Metzger (80 years old)
— Nadav Popluella (51 years old)
– Alexander Danzig (75 years old)
– Yagev Bukhshtab (35 years old)

The bodies were found in a Hamas tunnel in Khan Yunis. They were all killed in captivity, after brutal physical and mental torture. Almost all were elderly. There are still 109 Israeli hostages being held in the Gaza Strip.
Statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
“Tonight our forces returned the bodies of six of our hostages who were held by the Hamas terrorist organization: Avraham Munder, Alex Danzig, Chaim Peri, Yagev Buchstab, Yoram Metzger and Nadav Poplewell, may their memory be blessed.
Our hearts are saddened by this terrible loss. My wife Sarah and I send our deepest condolences to the dear families.
I would like to thank the brave fighters and commanders of the IDF and the Shin Bet for their heroism and decisive actions.
The State of Israel will continue to make every effort to return all of our hostages, both living and dead.”
