The new president of Iran unexpectedly announced war in Ukraine.

“Masoud Pezeshkian has said he is even seeking talks with the West over Russia's war against Ukraine,” The Guardian reports on September 23, 2024.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iran has never approved of Russian aggression and is ready to sit down at the table of dialogue with Europeans and Americans. He noted that the country does not support Russia's actions against Ukrainian territory.

Masoud Pezeshkian became the ninth president of Iran on July 29 after the death of his predecessor Ibrahim Raisi. TSN.ua also reported on the murder of the head of the political bureau of the terrorist organization Hamas Ismail Ghania, one of those accused of attacking Israel on October 7, 2023.

Thus, Pezeshkian declared Iran’s readiness for negotiations with the US and the EU on Russia’s military activity against Ukraine, emphasizing that the country does not support Putin’s aggressive actions.
