The warehouse in Toropets, Tver Oblast, contained Iskander and KN-23 ballistic missiles. This information was revealed by military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, Alexander Kovalenko, in the KIEV24 program. The 107th GRAU arsenal in Tver Oblast is the largest arsenal in terms of size and number of weapons storage facilities. This arsenal was also one of the five largest in the European part of Russia in terms of the number of weapons in question.
The Toropets warehouse may have contained Russian-made Iskander ballistic missiles, as well as KN-23s, ballistic missiles that are an exact copy of the Iskanders but were manufactured in North Korea. These missiles were possibly stored there by the Russians for future use in their plans to carry out terrorist strikes deep into Ukraine, Kovalenko noted.
Expert David Sharp from Israel expressed a more rational version of what could have led to the explosion at the warehouse in Toropets, Tver Region. He believes that even a small munition that could have started a chain reaction was enough for the explosion.
The date of the destruction of the warehouse in Toropets by Ukrainian defense forces is September 18.
