The Regulation on military medical examination states that there are certain diseases, in the presence of which a person will not be mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the decision also depends on the severity of the disease.
According to the instruction of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine dated 14.08.2008 No. 402, men with amputation of a limb are considered unfit for military service. Persons with bilateral amputations of limbs, as well as with certain diseases of the musculoskeletal system, are not subject to mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
If the disease has caused serious disruptions in the body's functions, the person may also be declared unfit for service. This applies to various arthropathies, systemic connective tissue diseases and other joint lesions.
In case of detection of significant deformations or defects of the spine, hands, feet, limbs and other functional disorders, the person will also not be mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Citizens have the right to appeal to the military medical commission if they do not agree with the results of the examination.
