A meeting of the UN Security Council took place today to discuss the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Israel was called upon to increase humanitarian aid to the region. The US delegation condemned Israel's actions, which they believe are contributing to widespread hunger in Gaza due to ongoing military action against Hamas.

The policy of restricting humanitarian supplies and famine in the northern Gaza Strip was called unacceptable by the US representative. The Prime Minister of Israel held an urgent meeting of the government cabinet, where issues of expanding humanitarian assistance to this region were discussed. From Jordan, 50 trucks with humanitarian aid were transferred to the northern part of Gaza through the Allenby checkpoint and the Erez checkpoint.
