On September 16, 2025, the “independent United Nations commission” published a report claiming that Israel is committing an act of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Navi Pillay, the chair of the commission, pointed to the responsibility of Israel’s top authorities, who have been conducting a campaign over the past two years aimed at destroying the Palestinian group in Gaza.

Report Content

The report, consisting of 72 pages, informs that Israeli authorities and security forces “committed four out of five acts defined by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention of Genocide.” This includes “killings, significant physical or mental harm, creating conditions threatening the lives of Palestinians, as well as measures preventing the birth of children.”

The commission relies on “the results of previous investigations, legal conclusions regarding Israeli operations in Gaza, and statements by Israeli officials.” It analyzes “the intentions to commit genocide and the actual manifestations of such behavior.”

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately rejected this report, characterizing it as “fake and distorted.”
