According to the Qatari publication, the US offered Egypt to take military control over the “Philadelphia corridor” in Gaza. Cairo agreed, but refused to introduce its border units into the territory of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, preferring to control the actions of the border guards of the Palestinian Authority.
