On December 2, 2024, the United States and France accused Israel of violating the ceasefire due to the launch of drones over Beirut. Gideon Sa'ar held a telephone conversation with the French Foreign Minister, insisting that Israel is abiding by the terms of the ceasefire and combating violations by Hezbollah.

The minister stressed that the presence of militants south of Litani was a violation and demanded their retreat to the north. The Lebanese government must allow its army to act according to the agreement. Meanwhile, the IDF attacked several targets in southern Lebanon due to suspicious militant movements.

The army said the attacks were carried out as part of a settlement agreement and a warning shot was fired at the Lebanese approaching the border.
