The United States and the UAE discussed the possible lifting of sanctions against Damascus in exchange for the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to move away from Iran and stop supplying weapons to the terrorist group Hezbollah. Interestingly, the start of negotiations could be related to the expiration of Washington's sanctions against Damascus on December 20, as well as Israeli actions against Iranian proxies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip and Iranian assets in Syria.

.......

So far, such information has not been refuted, however, if it is confirmed, it could significantly affect the political situation in the region. It is assumed that such steps could become part of the new strategy of the United States and its allies in the Middle East.
