The US transferred part of the money from Egypt to Lebanon

Today, the United States decided to send Lebanon $95 million of military aid allocated for Egypt, as reported by Reuters. The decision was made by the administration of President Biden. The money is directed to the Lebanese army, which plays a key role in maintaining the ceasefire between Israel and the Hezbollah group.

The relevant document notes that these funds are intended for the Lebanese armed forces, which are actively involved in maintaining peace on the border with Israel and monitoring the situation with the terrorist organization Hezbollah. Previously, the United States allocated $1.3 billion in military aid to Egypt, including $95 million that was contingent on the release of political prisoners.

American Democrats have expressed dissatisfaction with human rights violations in Egypt and criticize Cairo for this. It is likely that the Egyptian side did not meet the conditions for providing assistance.
