At the government meeting on August 26, 2025, attended by US President Donald Trump, Whitkoff stated that, in his opinion, the American leader “has resolved even more than seven conflicts” in eight months.
During his travels around the world, he notes that in regions where hostages are freed, his name is mentioned with great respect.
“This is truly impressive,” he added.
Whitkoff recalled his visit to the Gaza Strip, where the US sent humanitarian aid and food. There, according to him, local residents welcomed Trump and displayed posters in his support.
The special representative also spoke about negotiations concerning the accession of new countries to the “Abraham Accords” — a series of peace agreements signed in 2020 between Israel and several Arab states, including the UAE and Bahrain, and later Sudan and Morocco. These agreements resulted from US efforts to normalize relations in the region.
“The concept of ‘peace through strength’ really works. We have meetings scheduled this week on conflicts in Russia and Ukraine, Iran, as well as with Israel and Hamas. We hope to resolve these issues by the end of the year,” Whitkoff emphasized, noting the work of his team.
In addition, he expressed the wish that the Nobel Committee award the Nobel Peace Prize specifically to Donald Trump.
