In Israel, for the first time since the start of the War of Iron Swords, three command-level Hamas militants previously detained in the Gaza Strip have been charged. This trio of Islamists previously lived in Judea and Samaria, then ended up in an Israeli prison for terrorist activities, and after the “Shalit deal” they were expelled to Gaza.
According to the indictment, upon arrival in the Gaza Strip, the militants joined the Hamas department that was involved in planning terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria, as well as recruiting perpetrators. The investigation began at the LAHAV-433 police station and was transferred to the counter-terrorism department in Judea and Samaria.
Three militants have been charged with membership in a terrorist organization, financing terrorism, and participating in attacks. Major General Moshe Pinchi noted the significant achievement, emphasizing the importance of bringing justice to victims of terror.
