The President of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke on September 23, 2025, at the UN General Assembly, where he expressed a sharp stance against the idea of recognizing a Palestinian state, calling it a “reward for terrorists.” In his speech, he also discussed the situation with Iran, the war in Ukraine, migration, and the effectiveness of the UN.

Trump at the General Assembly

The President began his speech with self-promotion, listing economic achievements and successful measures to combat illegal migration, and emphasized his peacekeeping efforts.

Trump stated that he ultimately ended seven military conflicts: in Cambodia, Kosovo, Congo, between Pakistan and India, as well as in relations between Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He noted:

“It is very unfortunate that I had to deal with this instead of the UN, which did not even try to help in these matters. What is the point of the UN if its potential is not used? It only utters empty words but does not stop wars; only real actions are capable of that.”

Iran

Trump sharply characterized Iran as the “main sponsor of terrorism” and emphasized that such a country should not have access to nuclear weapons. After taking office, he tried to establish relations with Tehran, offering full cooperation in case of stopping the nuclear program, but was refused.

As a result, as the President explained, the US was forced to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities:

“We did what people wanted to do for 22 years,” Trump added.

Hamas and the Palestinian State

Speaking about the situation with Hamas, Trump noted that this organization repeatedly refused reasonable peace proposals. He recalled the events of October 7, when terrible acts of violence occurred.

The President drew attention to the desire of some UN member countries to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state and called it “rewards” for terrorists, as Hamas refuses to release hostages and agree to a ceasefire.

Trump demanded the immediate release of all hostages without any conditions, emphasizing that this should include the return of 20 living people and the bodies of the dead, rejecting Hamas’s offer of a partial exchange.

“Everyone who wants peace should unite around the slogan: release the hostages immediately,” Trump noted.

The Situation in Ukraine

Discussing the war in Ukraine, the President identified China and India as the main sponsors of the conflict, as they are the ones purchasing Russian energy resources. He added that the US is ready to impose strict tariffs against Russia if it does not enter negotiations to end military actions.

However, this requires the participation of the European Union.

“Unfortunately, NATO countries continue to buy Russian energy resources, acting alongside us, thereby financing the war,” he concluded.
