US aircraft strike rebels in Yemen

American military aircraft attacked the Houthis in Yemen. On December 16, US forces attacked a Houthi command and control facility in Yemen. The target of the strike was a coordination center for Houthi operations related to attacks on US Navy warships and merchant ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The US and UK attacked Houthi targets in response to their attacks on commercial ships. The Houthis say the attacks are aimed at ships linked to Israel to show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of Israel's military operation against Hamas in October, the Houthis have attacked commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. In response, the United States and Israel have attacked Yemeni terrorist targets, but have so far been unable to completely stop their attacks.

The Houthi group in Yemen receives support from Iran and is part of the axis of resistance to the United States and Western states, along with the Palestinian Chromos and the Lebanese Hezbollah.
