The U.S. Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, announced the estimated cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip after the devastating Israeli bombings. According to him, the amount could reach 37 billion pounds sterling, reports The Guardian.
Financial Prospects
Witkoff noted that the figures range around 50 billion dollars. He emphasized that for the region, this is not such a significant amount. At the same time, the UN estimates the reconstruction costs at 70 billion dollars. The UN Development Program is already noting interest from potential donors from Arab states, Europe, and the USA.
Military Supplies and Diplomacy
The USA remained the largest supplier of weapons to Israel, which intensified the attacks on Gaza. Germany and other European countries also approved the export of military equipment.
These events highlight the complexity and multilayered nature of the situation, where diplomacy and economics intertwine with history and politics.
