Zelensky said that NATO is not shooting down missiles over Ukraine because their politicians made that decision.

The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, expressed dissatisfaction that good neighborly relations between Ukraine and Poland ceased at the moment when it was necessary to shoot down Russian missiles.

During a press conference in Transcarpathia on October 31, 2024, he noted that Poland refuses to shoot down missiles that were fired by the occupiers towards Poland, even when it comes to protecting the city of Stria near the border, where gas storage facilities are located. He also noted that Poland was waiting for NATO approval and support to take action.

The head of state said: “What about the Poles? Are they shooting down? No”.

Zelensky said that Ukraine asked to transfer the MiG fighters because Poland did not use them to shoot down Russian missiles. In response, Poland asked for a “police mission” to protect its airspace, since it does not have MiGs.

Ukrainian diplomats achieved such a mission for Poland.

Vladimir Zelensky mentioned that in the past fighters from France and other countries defended Israel from an Iranian missile and drone attack, but why the allies do not protect Ukraine from Russian aggression, he replied that this decision was made by the United States. He emphasized that Poland did not provide Ukraine with fighter jets, and another reason appeared.
