On September 16, 2024, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend the upcoming BRICS summit. Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali confirmed that President Pezeshkian is attending the BRICS summit in Kazan from October 22 to 24. According to the information, the Iranian leader plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Iran and Russia are set to sign an agreement on comprehensive cooperation in various fields.

Western media reported that Iran had transferred about 220 ballistic missiles to Russia. The US, Germany, Britain and France imposed new sanctions on Iran in response.
