Ukraine evacuated about 200 of its citizens from Lebanon during the crisis.

The State Intelligence Service (SUR) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine successfully carried out a complex operation to evacuate citizens from Lebanon in the context of the deteriorating situation in the region.

On October 1, 2024, the Main Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, completed the operation to return Ukrainians who were in Lebanon. As part of the mission, 179 people were evacuated, including 134 Ukrainians, 45 citizens of other countries and three animals.

The evacuation took place under difficult conditions, including shelling, but was successful thanks to the coordination of intelligence and diplomacy. Since the beginning of the operation, Ukraine has returned 234 people to their homeland, continuing to take measures to support its citizens.

Israel is planning an attack on Lebanon, which could lead to a new conflict in the Middle East. The media are also reporting a possible conflict between Israel and Iran in Lebanon.
