So-called experts claim that Kyiv has been provided with tactical nuclear weapons. Russia is discussing new disinformation about tactical nuclear weapons allegedly received by Ukraine.

This is reported by Newsweekciting the well-founded assertion of the head of the pro-Kremlin Center for Political Information, Alexei Mukhin.

In his opinion, the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine may indicate the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons.

«First of all, the F-16 already exists, and I am sure that tactical nuclear weapons already exist. Unfortunately, practice shows that when they announce something, it happened several months ago,» Mukhin said.

There is no evidence yet that the West has transferred nuclear weapons to Ukraine.

Why doesn't Ukraine have nuclear weapons?

The country gave up its nuclear arsenal in exchange for security guarantees from Russia and the US under the Budapest Memorandum. At the same time, propaganda 'experts' and channels in Russia, as well as Russian officials, have repeatedly spread the nuclear weapons narrative since the Russian invasion began in February 2022.

However, there are other points of view in Russia on this issue. For example, Konstantin Zatulin, a member of the ruling United Russia party, claims that the West «definitely did not provide tactical nuclear weapons.»

'I think they are trying to catch us by the tongue, since we have already managed to say that we will perceive the appearance of the F-16 as a nuclear threat… But I am sure that they have definitely not crossed the threshold associated with the provision of tactical nuclear weapons,' Zatulin said.

The Kremlin has promised to shoot down Western F-16 fighters supplied by Ukraine.
