In August 2026, Israeli audiences will be able to see the Ukrainian erotic-historical thriller “All Shades of Temptation” (original Ukrainian – “Всі відтінки спокуси“) on the big screen. Screenings will take place in two cities: August 18 in Tel Aviv and August 27 in Haifa.
The film takes the viewer to Lviv at the end of the 19th century and combines the atmosphere of an old family estate, the history of the introduction of kerosene lighting, psychological confrontation, the struggle for inheritance, and dangerous passion. At the center of the plot is a young woman whom those around her see simultaneously as an object of desire, a source of wealth, and an obstacle to their own goals.

Her husband is interested in her money, the maid wants to take her place, and the cook sees the solution to her problems in the death of the mistress.
The familiar childhood home turns into a trap for Amelia. Feelings are used as a tool of manipulation, intimacy becomes a means of control, and love becomes increasingly difficult to separate from the desire to possess another person.
Everyone wants to feel Amelia, seduce her, or subdue her. But the main question of the film sounds different: who among those around truly wants to understand and love her for herself, and not to obtain her body, wealth, or position?
The film combines elements of historical drama, chamber psychological thriller, and sensual cinema. At the same time, temptation in it is associated not only with physical attraction. The characters experience temptation by money, power, someone else’s position, the ability to control a person, and even the prospect of unpunished crime.

Johann Zeg worked in Lviv on the technology of oil purification together with Ignacy Lukasiewicz. In 1853, Zeg received an Austrian patent for a method of purifying oil products for use in lighting and heating. In the same year, the kerosene lamp was presented in Lviv and later used to illuminate a night surgical operation in the city hospital.
The organizers of the Israeli screenings mention 1852 in the announcement and call Zeg the inventor of the first kerosene lamp. Historical sources more often attribute the creation and practical application of the lamp to 1853 and associate the development with the joint work of Zeg, Lukasiewicz, and the craftsman who made the lamp’s construction.
However, “All Shades of Temptation” does not claim to be an accurate biography of the scientist. The real story is used as a basis for an artistic metaphor: the house of a person who helped bring a new source of light to people, decades later, turns out to be filled with emotional and moral darkness.
Actors and the first major role of Vladimir Dantes
The main role of Amelia Kryzhevskaya-Zeg was played by Elena Lavrenyuk. She also served as one of the producers of the film.
Her husband Tomasz Kryzhevsky was played by singer and TV presenter Vladimir Dantes. In the advertising campaign for the Israeli screenings, this work is presented as his first role in cinema, and Ukrainian sources call the image of Tomasz Dantes’ debut in a feature film.
Daniel Salem played the role of Mikael Goretsky. It is between the characters of Elena Lavrenyuk, Vladimir Dantes, and Daniel Salem that the central love and psychological triangle develops.

The official soundtrack of the film was the song by Vladimir Dantes “В обіймах” — “In the Embrace”, presented on January 21, 2026.
The music video was shot by Irina Gromozda, and the clip featured Vladimir Dantes and Elena Lavrenyuk. The composition continues the main theme of the film: desire may look like love but gradually turns into dependence, control, and the desire to manage another person’s life.
In this sense, the soundtrack not only accompanies the film but reveals its central conflict. Behind the external romance lies the question of the boundary after which a strong feeling ceases to be intimacy and becomes a means of subjugation.
From the Ukrainian premiere to screenings in Israel
The first teaser of “All Shades of Temptation” appeared on August 8, 2025. The all-Ukrainian premiere took place on February 12, 2026, on the eve of Valentine’s Day.
Before the film’s wide release, a pre-premiere screening and autograph session were held in Kyiv. Vladimir Dantes, Elena Lavrenyuk, Elena Khokhlatkina, and director Irina Gromozda met with the audience. Such a meeting has not yet been announced for the Israeli events.
During the first weekend of release, including pre-premiere sessions, the film was watched by 47,367 viewers. Box office receipts exceeded 9.6 million hryvnias. Ukrainian media and the creators of the film presented it as the first Ukrainian erotic-historical thriller.
