Ukrainian footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko has decided to leave “Arsenal” and move to “Nottingham Forest”. The transfer, which is arranged on loan terms, is reported on the club’s official Instagram page. Zinchenko will now become part of the team that is in the English Premier League until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Considering that Zinchenko’s contract with “Arsenal” expires at the same time, he will become a free agent. In his statement, Zinchenko expressed joy at the opportunity to join “Nottingham Forest” and is looking forward to starting new matches, noting his readiness to play for the new team.
As for the player’s history at “Arsenal”, he joined the ranks of the London club in July 2022, inspired by his past at “Manchester City”. During his time with the team, Zinchenko played 91 matches in various tournaments.
The club also noted Zinchenko’s contribution to the development of Ukrainian football. Currently, he is the youngest goal scorer for the national team and the first captain of the team at the age of 24. His international achievements are also impressive: three participations in European Championships, 74 matches, 12 goals scored, and 7 assists. In 2019, football experts named him the footballer of the year in Ukraine.
Currently, “Nottingham Forest” is in 10th position in the EPL, having 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss. Last season, the team finished the championship in 7th place and plans to compete for the title in the Europa League.
Noting that Zinchenko also had the opportunity to move to the French “Marseille”, it is worth mentioning that this option did not receive approval among fans. The reason was the events of October 7, 2023, when he expressed support for Israel amid terrorist acts in the region, which could have caused discontent, considering the significant Muslim population in Marseille.
