A drone attacked a truck carrying drones on the border between Syria and Iraq, according to Israeli news.

On September 5, 2024, in Syria, in the area of the city of al-Bukamal near the border with Iraq, an unknown drone attacked a refrigerated truck. The vehicle contained components for missiles and drones, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports.

The truck, belonging to the Iraqi group Hezbollah, was parked at a gas station when the attack killed the driver, a non-Syrian citizen, and injured several gas station workers. Eyewitnesses say the vehicle was carrying important weapons components.

Information about the incident was received after a loud explosion was heard in the area of the city of al-Bukamal. Thick smoke immediately rose above the site of the attack, and ambulances arrived at the scene. The investigation and search for those responsible for the attack on the truck are currently ongoing.
