Israel has confirmed the death of 75-year-old Bilge Yinon, the last victim of the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, 2023. The woman died along with her husband Yaakov in their home in Netiv HaAsara.
Their home was burned to the ground, the BBC reports. The IDF said they had established the woman's death after conducting a comprehensive inspection of the area around the house. The couple's children had long since accepted their mother's death, but it was only now that it was officially confirmed.
The couple's daughter said her father had written on social media that they were in a safe room, but a direct hit from a shell had reduced their home to ashes. On May 17, Israeli troops found the body of German Shani Luk, who was killed by Hamas militants on October 7.
Luku was 22 and had Israeli and German citizenship. Her body has not yet been found, but DNA testing showed that a fragment of a temporal bone found at the scene of the attack belonged to her.
